Role Overview

We are seeking a diligent, analytical and proactive Competitive & Market Intelligence Manager to monitor the global financial services market and broader industry landscape — continuously gathering, synthesizing, and delivering actionable market intelligence to inform strategy. Based in Mumbai, this role will report to the CMO and act as a key source of insight for leadership, product, and sales teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Continuously monitor industry trends, market developments, competitor press releases, regulatory changes, financial markets, and technology innovations relevant to our business.
  • Collect and synthesize data from public information — market reports, financial media, regulatory filings, analyst reports, and other relevant sources — to build a comprehensive picture of competitive activity and market dynamics.
  • Maintain and develop a knowledge repository / competitive intelligence database or framework to organize and track market intelligence over time.
  • Produce regular reports (quarterly at least) summarizing competitive landscape, emerging trends, threats, opportunities, competitor product or offering changes, pricing, positioning, and market share insights.
  • Present findings and strategic insights to leadership, marketing, sales teams, and other stakeholders in clear, well-structured formats (written reports, slide decks, presentations).
  • Collaborate with product, marketing, and sales teams to translate market intelligence into actionable recommendations — e.g. product positioning, go-to-market strategies, sales tactics, or messaging adjustments.
  • Provide ad-hoc insights when needed: support sales pitches, RFP responses, product strategy reviews, or leadership decisions by delivering relevant market/competitor data or benchmarking analysis.
  • Analyze market data and performance metrics to identify potential gaps, threats, or growth areas — recommend and support strategic decisions accordingly.
  • Stay updated on global and regional financial software market developments, regulatory shifts, and broader industry trends relevant to asset management, credit, fintech, and related sectors.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in market research, competitive intelligence, business intelligence, market analysis, or a similar role — preferably within software, fintech, financial services, or a related industry.
  • Strong analytical skills: ability to gather, analyze, synthesize large volumes of information from heterogeneous sources, identify patterns/trends, and draw actionable insights.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills — ability to write clear, concise reports; create slide decks; and present insights to senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Comfortable presenting findings to larger groups; confident in public speaking, stakeholder engagement, and cross-team collaboration.
  • Strong organizational skills: ability to maintain a structured knowledge repository, manage multiple streams of incoming information, and prioritize based on strategic relevance.
  • Proactive mindset: self-starter, curious, and constantly staying alert to new developments and potential market shifts.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

  • Previous experience in competitive intelligence or market research in software, fintech, asset management, or credit sectors.
  • Familiarity with financial markets, regulatory environments, and asset management/credit industry trends.
  • Experience using market-research tools, subscription databases, analytics tools, or competitive intelligence platforms.
  • Experience working with global teams and cross-geography collaboration.
