THE ROLE
Linedata is seeking a highly analytical Data Engineer with a strong background in the BFSI sector to own the end-to-end lifecycle of our automated data reporting pipelines. The ideal candidate does not just "build dashboards"; they design, maintain, and optimize robust data workflows that process large-scale financial data while ensuring data governance and operational excellence.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Alteryx, Python, SQL, and Power BI / Tableau, with a passion for process automation, data quality, and reporting governance. Experience in the BFSI domain will be highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Alteryx workflows for data extraction, transformation, validation, and reporting.
- Build scalable ETL pipelines to process large volumes of enterprise data from multiple source systems.
- Develop automated reporting solutions that reduce manual effort and improve reporting accuracy.
- Create interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI and/or Tableau for business and leadership teams.
- Write efficient SQL queries for data extraction, analysis, reconciliation, and reporting.
- Perform data validation, reconciliation, and quality checks to ensure the integrity of reporting outputs.
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into scalable analytics solutions.
- Optimize existing workflows and reporting processes for performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Support governance initiatives through data controls, reporting standards, and documentation.
- Collaborate with global teams to deliver reporting solutions aligned with business priorities.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools such as Claude/Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar productivity tools to improve development efficiency wherever appropriate.
Skills Required
- Strong hands-on experience with Alteryx Designer, including workflow development, macros, ETL, and automation.
- Strong SQL skills with experience writing complex queries and optimizing performance.
- Good programming experience in Python, preferably using Pandas for automation and data processing.
- Experience developing dashboards using Power BI and/or Tableau.
- Good understanding of ETL, data warehousing, and reporting architectures.
- Experience with data validation, reconciliation, and governance reporting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in Banking, Capital Markets, Investment Banking, Wealth Management, or Financial Services.
Advantageous Skills
- Exposure to Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, AWS, or cloud-based data platforms.
- Knowledge of Tableau Extracts, Power BI Service, DAX, and data modelling.
- Experience with AI coding assistants like Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Microsoft Copilot.
- Understanding of reporting governance, financial reporting, and enterprise data quality frameworks.
Academic Requirements
- 5–15 years of experience in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or Data Engineering.
- Experience working on enterprise reporting, governance, regulatory reporting, or financial analytics projects within the BFSI domain.
